How Blogging Changed My Life

Hello everyone!

I’m very pleased to say that today is the 10 month anniversary of Style Glint. I started blogging on 14th of June 2017. I can’t believe it’s been 10 months since I started this amazing journey. I can easily say that creating a blog was the BEST decision I’ve ever made in my life. In today’s blog post I’ll talk about how blogging changed my life in different ways.

1. My English is much better than it used to be

As you might know, my native language is Turkish. I live in Istanbul/Turkey. I think I started learning English when I was 4 years old. My elementary school and high school is an Austrian school, therefore the English lessons they’re giving is not enough for anyone. I developed my foreign language outside school by watching tv series, listening to music & going to summer camps in the UK. I believe that my English is getting better every day because of blogging. I’m not only writing blog posts, I also engage with other bloggers which helps me to socialize in English.

2. I thınk more posıtıvely about my future

Blogging helped me to reduce my anxiety about my future plans. After I started blogging, I realised that in the future, blogging will be the major part of my life. I think I might be a full-time blogger after I turn 18. I’m planning to study in the UK, thus my chances will be much better than it is in Istanbul.  Some people think that blogging isn’t a career but I think it is. It’s not only a hobby but also a job for someone who wants to profit from what s/he writes. My blog is in growing phase so I’m not even thinking to earn money from it. I’m also 16 years old so it’s not necessary at the moment.

Writing about my daily life, thoughts and feelings helped me to feel so grateful about life. I love writing about the places I travel or the products that I use. For me, recommending something to someone is one best thing in the world.

3. I have a lot of frıends from all around the world

As I said before, the blogging community is such an amazing place to be. Bloggers support each other all the time, which I find absolutely brilliant. Before I started blogging I scared to enter this community because I wasn’t sure if everyone is ambitious and don’t help each other at all. But it turned out opposite of what I thought. I love talking with bloggers from all around the world about our interests and blogging experiences. I learn so many things from every single blogger I talk to which helps me to develop my blog faster.

4. I found new ınterests

After I started blogging, I realised that I love taking photographs and posting them on Instagram. I mean, I wasn’t that kind of person who always takes photos of herself and post it on social media. I’m still not but I started liking modelling for photos on my Instagram & blog. Please tell me that I’m not the only one who is obsessed with flatlays. I love taking flatlay photos but more than that I love seeing flatlay photos on social media. I hope I’ll take much better flatlays in the future because I’m not very good at it.

I think that’s all for this post. I hope you guys liked it! How long have you been blogging? Or do you like reading blog posts like I do? Let me know by commenting down below.

Love Y’all so much!

  11. Congratulations on your 10th month. Like yourself I was scared of entering the blogging community at first but I love how everyone is willing to help each other and inspire one another. The only thing I am struggling at the moment is keeping my motivation and being consistent but reading this type of blogpost do encourage me and inspire me to keep on going. I’ve been posting about my travels a lot more and will be including Istanbul soon once we completed our Europe tour this summer. We will be at Istanbul for 5 days which includes a day trip to Cappadocia 😉 which I am really excited about. Any tips to consider? Looking forward for your response.

    1. Thank you so much!! I’m also getting demotivated sometimes but as you said, reading blog posts help me to get motivated. I also love chatting with other bloggers via Twitter. I’m really excited that you’re going to travel to Istanbul. I’m sure you’ll love it. We should definitely meet up. You can check out my blog post “Büyükada (Prinkipo)” which is about an island in Istanbul. It’s the biggest island in all Prince Islands. It’s a very touristic place and it has many beaches as well as restaurants and cafes. I’m sure you’ll like it! Let me know when you read it. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts. 12. I’ve found that I really enjoy taking flatlay photographs as well! I actually discovered that when I started an aesthetic Instagram account and my best friend suggested that I start a blog since I take so many aesthetic pictures anyways. I love blogging because it’s a creative outlet for me and it seems like that’s also why you love it too! Blogging is a great hobby to have!

    1. I’m glad that you’ve discovered your interests. I agree with you! Blogging is an amazing hobby to have. I’m thinking to be a full-time blogger as soon as I reach 18 years old. I love social media, communicating with people, taking photos and writing blog posts. I think that will be a great job for me.
      Much love,
      Sima
