Hello my lovely readers,
It’s the last day of January 2019, and I’m glad that this month was productive and successful for my blog. I discovered new blogs, engaged with new bloggers and wrote 3 blog posts (not that amazing but I’m still proud of myself and the effort I put into my blog). This morning I flew to London to visit my sister. I’ll stay in her flat for 4 days and after that 2nd and LAST semester starts in my high school journey. In today’s post, I’ll explain what self-care means, how crucial it is, and how we can boost our wellbeing overall.
What is Self-Care?
Self-care is any activity that we do deliberately in order to take care of our mental, emotional, and physical health. It is not something that we force ourselves to do or something we don’t enjoy doing.
Some people see self-care as a selfish act but it isn’t. It’s all about taking care ourselves, spending time on our own and listen to our body. We all need private space and do activities that make us happy. Taking a break from work or responsibilities that we have will reduce our stress and anxiety.

Benefits of Self-Care
— Increases Self-Esteem: When you have a good understanding of yourself and spend more time to do what you love, eventually you build a positive vibe for yourself.
—Reduces Stress and Anxiety: A lot of people deal with stress and anxiety because of hectic student/work life. Constantly thinking about work-related things will make us feel exhausted, therefore self-care is a must in order to reduce stress. Spending time with loved ones and family is an easy start!
—Increases Productivity: As a perfectionist, productivity plays a huge role not only in my personal life but also for my blog and schoolwork. So how exactly increase self-care productivity? As I mentioned before, when you take some time off from work, you feel energized and motivated. After you spend time with friends and family, you feel like you’re ready to go work. Self-care is a good act for you to discharge and go back to your work better than ever!
—Improves Health: Many of us don’t think about our health and mental-state in our daily lives. When you keep yourself in a restful mode, your body also strengthens the immune system. Thus, you won’t get cold, headaches easily.
If you want to include self-care in your life, firstly you should stop scrolling through Instagram and start doing something for yourself. For example, go for a walk, meditate, read a book or just Netflix & chill. Anything will be perfect; the important thing is to doing something which will make you happier and less stressful.
